I was commisioned by Bestival to create a beautiful entrance facade for the Underground Restaurant.
This was an exclusive onsite restaurant run by renowned Chef Kerstin Rodgers, aka ‘The Underground Supper Club’. It is a submersive theatrical experience and for the design I focused on a nautical theme and played with ideas of arriving into port somewhere fantastical. I paid real attention to the detail and quality of the installation with hand-painted signage and individually made sails. The fish were finished in layers of yacht varnish for durability and painted with irridescent colours to simulate the look of real fish scales. Every part of this installation had to reflect the quality and unique atmosphere of the restaurant. It set the scene for an amazing culinary experience.
